WHERE DID WE START?

Did you know our salon has been in East Horsley Village for nearly 60years! We’ve been through some changes and have had a renovation or two but at the heart we are still a village salon that ultimately cares so much for our guests and the village itself.

Starting its life as Patrick’s Headquarters back in 1973, Patrick Helm who was the salons owner at the time was only 22!. A fair few of our current guests have been Patrick’s clients for all those years, some of which we now cut the hairs of their GREAT Grandchildren!!

Patrick soon realised when you call a salon Patricks Headquarters, almost every client wants ‘Patrick’ so knowing he may end up being the only stylist in his salon, he quickly dropped the Patrick and the salon evolved into Headquarters Haircare- in the words of the salon team at the time ‘we don’t just hair, we care!’

Patrick sold the business to Marie in 2016, she came along as a young 23 year old girl with no real idea of how to run a business but every idea of how to run a salon. Patrick and his wife Bernadette (who was also a stylist in the salon) supported Marie & held her hand through this crazy new journey.

Patrick & Bernadette even came back to save the day and work at the salon in 2017 when one of the stylists was injured and wasn’t able to work, safe to say Marie was endlessly grateful as were our clients. You could have thought a celebrity was in the salon that few weeks as rumour spread “Patrick is back from retirement!”. Our salon story wouldn’t be the same without Patrick and Bernadette.

When Marie’s mum Karen retired, she became the missing piece Marie needed to help the business succeed, at now 25 Marie had been manning the salon for 2 years but the business side was still not her bag, enter Karen! Who took over all the ‘paperworky’ bits & became our salon receptionist.

Undergoing renovations was a huge outlay and something that was done in very small stages but Marie’s amazing Dad, Jim, was on hand for all things building and over the years the salon evolved, in 2019 we did a big renovation ripping out the salon and starting again, you can thank Karen for the amazing massage backwash chairs as she quite simply wouldn’t leave the showroom without them!

In 2024 we finally decided Headquarters was ready to evolve, not leaving behind everything we were but updating to move with everything we are! The Quarters was born, once again with all hands-on deck we transformed the salon into what you see today & in our true family style we roped in everyone! Marie’s cousin Dan, Brother-in-Law Mark and Husband Rob all gave up their time to help Jim bring it all together.
